Event Details

What does it take to survive in the ocean, and what does survival look like for deep-sea wildlife? Where do some of the most mysterious and wonderful sea creatures exist? Can marine conservation create a better world for ocean wildlife—and for ourselves?

In March, we'll journey to Earth's incredible underwater world at "Exploring Ocean Wonders." Join us to view a selection of curated talks on this topic and discuss as a group.

This month we'll also be joined by Valerie Perini, Nature Engagement Manager of The Crane Estate, who will share expert insights and feedback relating to this topic.

More about this month's Local Expert: "Val Perini AKA 'Val the Seaweed Gal' is a marine scientist who has spent her professional career researching and leading education programs in coastal habitats. She received her BS and MS in Biology with a focus on Marine Science, from Northeastern University. Val is an Advanced SCUBA diver with over logged 100 dives in locations ranging from the reefs of Honduras and Florida to the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia to the rocky coasts of Maine. In addition to studying and teaching in the outdoors, she's been lucky to work in a variety of other education settings, from museum educator to adjunct professor. In her current role as the Nature Engagment Manager at The Crane Estate with The Trustees, Val designs and manages a variety of outdoor education and recreation programs that get visitors outside exploring and studying the beautiful New England coast."
