DESCRIPTION:During our weekly meetings, we will practice sitting meditatio
 n (zazen) and walking meditation (kinhin), ending with a discussion of imp
 ortant components of Zen as illustrated in selected readings.  Although Z
 en Meditation has no ostensible goals beyond learning to be present to wha
 t is, the long-term effects of this powerful practice can be increased cal
 m, the development of greater compassion, and the discovery of and alignme
 nt with our authentic selves.  All of these can support greater long-term
  health, well-being, and growth.Registration is required. Please note this
  is a 2 month series. The first session will be an introductory session. I

 omething we can make happen.Beginning meditators as well as those new to Z
 en are welcome!  Please let us know if you are new to zen meditation so w
 e can arrange a time before the meeting so Celeste can introduce you to th
 e practice.Celeste Calabotta has facilitated prayer and meditation groups,
  both in person and online, for over 15 years.  A certified Spiritual Dir
 ector engaged in spiritual accompaniment for over 12 years, she began prac
 ticing Zen Meditation 3 years ago as part of a Christian Zen Retreat facil
 itated by Roshi Robert Kennedy, the first American priest to receive the d
 esignation “Roshi,” or “Master.”  Her attraction to Zen Meditatio
 n reflects her deep commitment to interspirituality.
