Please join us  on Tuesday, May 14th at 1:00 in the Community Room to discuss The Best Minds: A Story of Friendship, Madness, and the Tragedy of Good Intentions by Jonathan Rosen. This is a remarkable memoir about a brilliant young man brought down by schizophrenia, the book is both funny and harrowing at the same time.  The subject of the author's book is his best childhood friend Michael Laudor, a graduate of Yale Law School who made national headlines for successfully applying and graduating from Yale Law School while suffering from schizophrenia. In fact, Michael Lauder's story was going to be made into a movie produced by Ron Howard and starring Brad Pitt... until he murdered his pregnant girlfriend.   This book was named a Best Book of the Year by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Slate, and People, and was Barack Obama's best book of 2023.

We have copies of the book at the library, and if you would like a copy, please send me a note or click on the link above to place a hold. The book is also available as an audio or e-book on The Palace Project platform. New Readers Welcome!
