Event Details

Celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day pirate style with the Rhode Island Pirate Guy!

Set sail on an adventure to recover my wrongfully gained treasure while learning pirate skills along the way.  First we will dress like pirates with eyepatches, temporary tattoos, and bandanas.  Next we will create our very own pirate flags, just like the real pirates used to.  After this we will engage in a few pirate games including relay races and team building activities.  Followed by learning real life navigational skills with compasses to locate and uncover my buried treasure!

Pirate costumes optional!

For grades K-6.

SPACE IS LIMITED. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

Who is the R.I. Pirate Guy?

The R.I. Pirate Guy LLC is Luca Rebussini of Cranston, R.I., a man with many feathers in his cap, but is a pirate at heart. He’s currently a social studies teacher in Pawtucket, R.I. with many years of experience in education after becoming a 2016 and 2017 graduate of URI with bachelor’s degrees in history and secondary education respectively and a 2018 graduate of Western Governors University with a master’s degree in ESL. While presenting his piratical persona since December of 2021, the R.I. Pirate Guy LLC was officially established in August of 2024 out of a combination of a love of history, passion for teaching, and for the fun of learning about the remarkable stories of pirates.
