Did you know? Your library card might be the most valuable card in your wallet! Visit the library during the month of September to explore a wide variety of resources and events for all ages during National Library Card Sign-Up Month.

Need a library card? We’re here to help! Clinton residents are encouraged to sign up for a library account to borrow books, music, movies, or items from our “Library of Things,” including Chromebooks, Wifi hotspots, musical instruments, yard games, pre-loaded activity backpacks, and more. Cardholders will also enjoy discount museum and park passes to local attractions, as well as instant fee-free online access to eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music, tutorials, and resources through Hoopla, Palace Project, Kanopy, Creativebug, and Mango Languages.

Enter our book lover’s giveaway while you’re here between 9/1 - 9/30 for a chance to win a “Greatest First Lines of Literature” mug, a rechargeable USB book light, a limited-edition holographic Henry sticker, and a “Support Your Library” canvas tote—that comes with a one-time free pass to fill it with as many books from our book sale as you can fit!

About Library Card Sign-up Month: “Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the American Library Association and libraries unite in a national effort to ensure every child signs-up for their own library card.

Throughout the school year, public librarians and library staff will assist parents and caregivers with saving hundreds of dollars on educational resources and services for students. From free access to STEAM programs/activities, educational apps, in-person and virtual homework help, technology workshops to the expertise of librarians, a library card is one of the most cost-effective back-to-school supplies available.”—ala.org
