Love true stories? Join the Get Real Nonfiction Book Group. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 1:00 PM in the HCH Community Room. Every month we feature a "ripped from the headlines" topic to read and discuss.  

 

Event Details

Please join our dynamic non-fiction reading group on Tuesday, August 8th @ 1:00 pm in the HCH Community Room for a discussion of Invasion: The Inside Story of Russia's bloody War and Ukraine's Fight for Survival by Luke Harding.  Invasion is Luke Harding’s compelling chronicle of the war that dominates international headlines and is the inflection point of global politics today. For this breathtaking work of reportage the author spent months at the front line in Ukraine reporting from the ground and offers the compelling human stories from key battles as well as insightful portraits of the the war’s two great personalities: Volodymyr Zelenskiy, is an actor-turned-president who rallied support on a global stage, and Vladimir Putin, former KGB and Russia's longtime dictator.
