Are you interested in learning more about Israel? Please join us on Tuesday, January 9th for a discussion of My Promised Land: The Triumph and Tragedy of Israel by Ari Shavit. This book examines the complexities and contradictions of Israeli and addresses the questions:  Why did Israel come to be? How did it come to be? Can Israel survive? Culminating with an analysis of the issues and threats that Israel is currently facing. 

Ari Shavit's My Promised Land will help us make sense of the events happening in Israel-Palestine in 2023. This is a  deeply reported, personal history of Israel, balancing both the strengths and weaknesses as well as the contradictions.   Registration is not required.  Books are available at HCH Library or by contacting cathleen@hchlibrary.org.
