This October, we are pleased to host, Collagescapes: Season 2, an exhibit of mixed media collage by Alex Wetmore. View the exhibit on display on the 1st & 2nd Floors through Sat. 10/28.

About the exhibit:

Alex Wetmore's 'collagescapes' are created using a montage of hand-torn magazine swatches. The swatches are then painted and assembled onto paper or canvas using a water-soluble glue and acrylic finish. The result is an original collage intended to showcase the beauty found along the CT Shoreline. It's an upcycling process from start to finish, as Alex sources and frames her original collage pieces as well. This is Alex's second solo show at the Henry Carter Hull Library, and she is thrilled for the opportunity to exhibit her work in such a wonderful, calming space.

About the artist:

Alex Wetmore is a contemporary collage artist who has been crafting original collages since 2013. Alex defines her art style as a "symphony of colors orchestrated with torn magazine swatches." While there is no actual paint involved in Alex's process, her compositions take on an impressionistic quality, reminiscent of strokes on a canvas when viewed from a distance.

Alex is a member of the Clinton Art Society, Madison Art Society, Essex Art Association, and Lyme Art Association. She resides in Madison, CT, and loves exploring all the natural beauty the CT Shoreline has to offer. Alex enjoys spending time with her twin daughters, and her rescue pup "Lil.'
