About the artists:

Olive McArdle: Olive McArdle is an emerging young artist who, at only eleven years old, is making an impression in the art world. Olive has been crafting and evolving her unique artistic perspective since she was just four years old. Her journey into art, fueled by her insatiable curiosity and tireless imagination, has led her to specialize in collaged paper, oil painting, and drawing.

With a deep appreciation for the natural world, Olive's work frequently showcases her fascination with wildlife, especially animals. Her unique ability to capture their beauty and grace in her artwork is noteworthy, demonstrating a talent and maturity far beyond her years. Animals in her art are not merely subjects; they become vibrant characters with stories to tell, which brings an enticing narrative quality to her creations.

Learning from the masters of the craft, Olive has had the opportunity to be mentored by esteemed children's book illustrator, Christopher Lyles. His influence is apparent in her work, which often carries a sense of whimsy and charm typical of Lyles' style. From him, Olive has not only developed her technical abilities but also absorbed an understanding of how to translate emotions and stories into her art pieces. He has been instrumental in her understanding of color theory, the art of the line, focal points, capturing the subject and so much more.

Olive has also been privileged to study under the tutelage of Veronique Fournier-Wynne at Wethersfield Art Academy. The guidance and encouragement from this institution have helped her refine her style and advance her skills in her chosen mediums.

Despite her youth, Olive's talent is undeniable and the depth of her work is striking. Her ability to create complex, engaging pieces, rich in texture and story, sets her apart as a unique voice in her generation of artists. Olive's commitment to her craft, paired with the guidance of her mentors and her unyielding passion for the natural world, promises a bright future in the world of art. The journey of this young artist is just beginning, and the art community eagerly awaits the inspiring creations that are yet to come from Olive McArdle.
