You’re Invited! Join the artist for a reception in the Community Room on Thurs. 8/8 at 6:00 PM.

About the Exhibit:

Utilizing a Nikon camera and various telephoto lenses, Chamberland captures water in a manner that may be beyond your previous conceptions. The exhibition showcases not just water itself but also subjects associated with water. From the crisp lines of a white sail against a cerulean, blue sky on a sunny day to the hazy images of towering lobster traps in the fog, Chamberland, an abstract photographer at heart, revitalizes the simplicity of this element.

Zsolt Bátori, a design theoretician from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Murcia, has appraised Ms. Chamberland's work at the PH21 Gallery in Budapest, remarking, "Chamberland's image reminds us how little is needed to create delicate and complex photographic meanings."

Artist Bio:

Ever since tasting seawater for the first time, Chamberland has been captivated by it. Originating from landlocked western Massachusetts in the late '60s, she relocated to southeastern Connecticut with her family when her father's job introduced them to the coastal lifestyle.

Her essence yearns for immersion in all the attributes of water: its ever-changing nature, strength, scent, reflections, and its role as a means of transport are all-consuming.

Upon retiring as a project manager in 2022 from the Facilities Design and Construction department at Yale New Haven Health System, where she specialized in interior design, Chamberland transitioned full-time into her art studio in Essex Village, joyfully dedicating herself to the art of imagery.
